I made a TikTok! I will make a few more when I have a spare moment and see what happens. I’m going to keep it simple: shot with my phone, in available light, showcasing gear I own. This first one is a tour of my camera cabinet.

After years of reading your blog, I had a version of how your voice sounds in my head. So it’s odd to hear your actual voice and it be different.

It’s the opposite of when I worked in radio, and people would tell me in person, “You don’t look anything like I imagined based on your voice.” Speaking of which, here I am on the radio in 1994.

When I pointed out the alleged dangers of TikTok my daughter-in-law reminded me of the shenanigans involved with Facebook, Instagram, Google, etc. It’s all about monetizing everything. You are datum points of sex, religion, occupation, income, etc. etc. etc.

Yeah, anytime a site or service goes after a mass audience, the audience is the thing they want to monetize.

But if you’re referring to the aircheck video – it was an Audio Technica I think. It was the most popular broadcast mic in the US at the time.
