📷 For nostalgia’s sake, Dennis Mook recently bought an old Pentax Spotmatic with a 50mm f/1.4 Takumar. He had one early in his photography history and he enjoyed reminiscing about its usage. Turns out he used it as a forensic detective for the police! He tells a very enjoyable tale of the intertwined history of his photography and his career in law enforcement.     Dowling is right, Istanbul is a fabulous photographic destination. Jim, go for it as your next adventure.

        Oh man, I can give you a wealth of tips. You could spend a month there and not touch the sides.

    And explore a week in Cappadocia, another week on the Aegean coast, and even a stopver in the Turkish enclave in northern Cyprus. Better take all the film you intend to use with you. Then you can catch the ferry to Greece and spend another 6 months living the Mediterranean lifestyle. You could weigh the variables: Indiana vs. Istanbul vs. Athens.
