Indeed. Mine wasn’t fully functional which is why I went with the Certo.

Yep; hard to use a broken camera! I bet that Monitor is jammed, for example; most of them did.

My Monitor actually works! It does have one issue: the shutter button linkage doesn’t quite fire the shutter. I have to stick my finger in around the lens board and fire it there, which is kind of a pain. Here’s the report from the last time I used it.
Beautiful! I’m thinking of acquiring another folder, but I’m still not certain which. I too would love to hear about your favorites and those you consider to be dogs.
I’m almost certainly going to go for another older camera (I have a 1924 Hawkeye No.2) with a bright line finder, but I’m not sure if I really want to invest in one with a really nice lens like a Tessar or not.
Thanks Jim! Yours is the second testimony I’ve seen to Certo. Mike from Photography & Vintage Cameras has testified to his love of the Certo Dolly Super Sport. There are a couple Certix Model As on ebay that look to be in good condition. Tempting.
When I was gifted my Certo, I remembered Mike’s excellent results with his immediately. As a matter of fact, my Certo had some minor issues and Mike advised me on the repairs, even sending me a spare part he had.
Love this, but which of these would you keep and shoot with? Sharp focus-able lens, and 120 film?
I guess the Certo. It’s probably the best of the bunch.
Or the Voigtlander; they were pretty darn good too.

That’s what usually jams on them, Jim.

The Voigtlander and the Certo are probably the best ones here. The Kodak Monitor is good too, but it takes 620 film.
