I’ve been in a photographic rut in 2021, and it shows in my work. Normally I find it challenging to choose just ten favorite photos at the end of the year; I have to cull the set down from 30 or even 40. Not this year: the ten were obvious, because so little of my work excited me. Here’s to breaking out of my rut in 2022!

I particularly like those nighttime shots with color film.

The night time shot at Auberge is one of my favorites, maybe because I used to walk by there all the time at night. Another great example of the iPhone quality!

A little too HDR for my taste but I love the way the lights look.

“A little too HDR for my tastes” describes why I started shooting film again!

I turned off the master HDR setting in Settings, but it’s still too HDR-y for me. I miss the camera on my previous iPhone. It was more natural.

I was hoping the jeweler photo would make the cut. I really loved that one and the cherry blossoms too.

Thanks – it was a late swap for something else, as I made that photo late in the year and had already chosen my top 10. Sometimes that happens!

        Good choice!!

This is a nice selection for being in a rut. My favourite is the lakeshore biking picture. We’ve all been in that rut at some time or another. Good luck for next year.

Thanks Olli! I hope to shake off my doldrums and make more interesting images in 2022.

It has been that sort of year in many ways, but all really nice photos, I especially like the Grandmother and Granddaughter one! 2022 promises to be interesting as well, but here’s to good news wherever it can be found!

The grandmother is my wife – I just love how silvery her hair looks in the light!

Nice set Jim; the one of your wife and grandchild is a really nice one. Here’s hoping 2022 picks up for all of us.

      Thanks Nigel — here’s hoping!
