Testing posting from my phone

Next week I’ll be riding my bicycle across Indiana on the old National Road. I’ll blog about it each night, scheduling posts to go live at the usual 5 am ET. My only Internet device will be my phone – so I’m testing posting from it. Typing is not fun. But it works!

Voice to text is an invaluable tool for longer posts made on a phone. It may still require a bit of editing at the end but speaking clearly and utilizing punctuation commands makes for easily adjustable text that is worlds faster than trying to type it out on a phone screen. WordPress offers voice to text input on my iPhone App, so it may be an option for you. Looking forward to your posts!

I have used voice for short messages but I think differently when I type; that’s where I get my “voice” from in writing. It’s weird!

If at any point during your ride you feel any need to think about someone sitting comfortably in an air conditioned office sipping coffee, I would be happy to fill that role. :)

Hi Jim, hope you have an enjoyable and safe trip!

Regarding typing on a phone, what works well for me is a small bluetooth keyboard. Much better typing experience, and you see more on your phone’s screen as well without the virtual keyboard taking up screen real-estate.
It does take up a little bit of space in your bags of course, but the benefits cannot be ignored…

That’s a good suggestion! Thank you!
