💻 I love slice-of-life writing; I think everyone has an interesting life and it’s all in how you tell your stories. J. P. Cavanaugh shares memories of his childhood, triggered by the birthday of his long lost childhood best friend. Read Happy Birthday Kevin Bordner – And Other Things I Will Never Forget

📷 I always thought the Superheadz Ultra Wide and Slim was an exact copy of the original Vivitar UWS. Peggy Marsh puts that misunderstanding to rest. Read Vivitar UWS (Ultra Wide & Slim)

📷 You can always count on Mark O’Brien to find and shoot the offbeat cameras. He puts an Argus CR-1, an SLR made by Cosina, through its paces. Read Out and About with the Argus CR-1 SLR

“For those who are curious, she had her heart set on Baroque Gold but it was late in the model year and she settled for Pinehurst Green. Now you know, so you can relax.”

    Great line! ;)

That Baroque Gold was actually essentially brown, despite its name! Man, the car paint colors of the 70s could be … so dull.

Taste in colors and patterns were certainly a little questionable during that era.

Before I even read the article on the Argus, the picture popped up and the first thing that came to my mind was: “Rollei SL35”. The design is so uncanny, they had to be “borrowing” their styling cues from that Rollei!

Fascinating! So much copying going on.

I had a friend growing up whose father rarely spoke to him or me. My friend told me that one time they were on a trip and his father got mad at his mother, and he got out of the car — it was a two-lane back road — and said he was going to walk home. (I think they were at the Jersey Shore or somewhere far away from home.) So his mother was driving at 2mph next to his dad, shouting to get back into the car. Funny those humans!
