I made this photo just a few weeks ago, and now it’s essentially spring. This same scene is dry, with grass greening up, daffodils and crocus in bloom, and buds appearing on the trees.
We have a saying in Indiana. Maybe you have a similar one where you are. “If you don’t like the weather here, wait five minutes.”

Spring did seem to blast in out of nowhere this year. It works for me.
I welcomed it. The older I get, the less I like the cold.
Oh my gosh, Mother Nature sure has some mood swings over here too!!
The weather isn’t anything like I remember from even 20 years ago. The winters are so short now.
They are short but this winter was quite pleasant in my mind as we had snow on the ground for a few weeks. That part was wonderful.
We had more snow last night. The backyard is a glacier. But I have seen geese headed North!
You’re a liiiiiiittle farther north than we are here! So it’s not terribly surprising!
Short winters an ominous sign of things to come.
It sure seems that way. I hope not, but hope isn’t a strategy.
We just had another below average year for rain and counties, like Marin, are already planning their drought procedures. Our climate change typically means less rain, more heat, and soon more fire. This fire season could be another bad one on top of the previous bad one.
