Kodak made several TLR type cameras, from the Kodak Reflex to the Starflex to the Twin 20, all with the basic simplicity of a box camera. Indeed they are an extension of that design, for did not box cameras have waist-level finders? Merely a miniaturized version of the TLR principal.
Yes, you’re quite right, they’re very much like any old box Brownie, just with a much larger VF! I just shot my No. 2 Brownie, Model D, from 1914 and I cursed its tiny VF and wished for a big fisheye like in this Duaflex.
