Pretend there’s a pithy introduction here.
π· One of the best-known photographs in rock history is the cover of the Clash’s London Calling album. Stephen Dowling tells the time he met the photographer — and how she strongly influenced his choice in camera forevermore. Read Pentax ESII: The camera that captured rock’s most iconic photograph
π» When I was a kid, a car that made it to 100,000 miles was used up. Today, a car with that many miles is only halfway through its life. Nick Gerlich thinks about what this means for the auto industry. Read Going The Distance
π» Two people with autism have been in the public eye recently: Kodi Lee, who sang on America’s Got Talent, and Greta Thurnberg, who spoke powerfully about caring for our environment. Terra Vance compares and contrasts the public response to these two young people, and explains how our interpretations of normal autistic behavior are unfairly and unkindly held to neurotypical standards. Thanks for that link to the inspiring Dowling article on the ESII. It has definitely kindled some enthusiasm for playing with that unusual Pentax. It has also gotten me wondering if maybe the guy who gave it to me might like it back.
I’m sure the fellow who gave you that camera would be happy, if it turns out you haven’t much use for it, if you would pass it along to some other film photographer who would enjoy it!
I’m down to 43 cameras and that’s still more than I can reasonably regularly use: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12XL_QjfZR_NygiDs4iR2s3boVX4V3NTFGszZafvB85c/edit?usp=sharing
Probably the best and pithiest introduction Iβve ever imagined, Jim. ππΌπ
