You made a very fine selection!
I love Debra … she is my clear winner ;)
Here at home we selected another 12 pics for our 2019 photo calendar. This time its from our trip across Ireland.
I’ve thought about making a photo calendar as well. Maybe next year!
What a great idea, not sure I could make a list of ten from this year. I might try though. Instagram choose my top 9, but that is an algorithm not my choice. I like your choices though.
I find it challenging to choose just 10 every year! That doesn’t mean I’ve taken that many fine-art photos for the ages, but that so many of my photos please an audience of one: me.
Wow …. hard to choose !! They are all really good. I guess I would choose the Wheeler Mission. Keep the photos coming …. we enjoy so many things that you see through your camera lens !!
I have no intention to stop making photographs! Lord willing and the creek don’t rise, I’ll have another top-ten post this time next year.
I love them all but Debra is my favorite. Beautiful image!
Isn’t she just regal?
She is and you captured her essence beautifully.
I particularly like Under the Clock. Casual Man beneath the overwhelming dominance of measured and named Time. The double meaning of the overhead signage – there is the Obvious, but there is also You, the student. The Casual Man chooses Activities over Conferences – which says a lot about Conferences…. And Entertainment is off to the side, disregarded in this rare moment!
Under the Clock might be my favorite too. You see a lot more in it than I did at first look!
What a great idea! As a long time follower of your blog, it has been exciting watching your evolution from a guy writing about old cameras and abandoned roads, to an accomplished photographer.
What a lovely thing to say! I feel myself getting better as a photographer and that’s great fun.
Debra is my favourite too. Looking forward to more of your photos and posts next year Jim. I have so enjoyed following along having been introduced by Dan xoxo susanJOY
Happy you’re along for the ride!
Great photos! Love the ballroom in particular. I think the monochrome version caught my attention.
Isn’t that ballroom grand? The whole building is stunning.
Always enjoy viewing your work. Very nice selection of images. Hope your 2019 is better and your job situation is satbilized.
Thank you very much, on all counts!

The Balllroom is a lovely capture. Nice work, Jim. Best, Rob.
Why thank you!
I like 1996 the most, it has the perfect mood, the black and white rendition helps lot.
Thanks for sharing Jim!
I’m super happy with how that one turned out too! Thank you!
