Shoe repair

Shoe repair
Pentax ME, 50mm f/1.7 SMC Pentax-M
Kodak Max 400 (exp. 10/2007)
2018

This is my favorite shot from that Pentax ME and 50/1.7 lens I recently picked up on eBay. The muted colors and enhanced grain of the expired film really work here, complementing this gritty scene.

Lovely vintage grainy look Jim, this could have been made 30, even 40 years ago.

The scene itself helps a lot — this is a 30-40-year-ago kind of scene.

I think these shots look very good Jim. I agree that this is a great look for this shot. I envy your functional ME’s, every one I have seen was inop. in one way or another.

I seem to have extraordinarily good luck finding working MEs. I just sent this one off to Eric Hendrickson for CLA — should come back like new!

This one is new to me – picked it up cheap. It’s being CLAd right now!

Yes, it really does work well. It could be a vintage photo. Great choice of subject for this film, Jim.

Thanks! With expired film you never know how it will turn out until it has turned out, so this was luck in large part!

Fun to play the lottery with film!
