You might have noticed that sometime in the afternoon of June 10, my blog went missing. That’s because the company that hosts my domain, jimgrey.net, seems to have disappeared. That’s what I get for using BillyJoeBob’s Budget Hosting!
I’ve transferred my domain to a new host as of 6 am EDT June 11, but it will take up to 48 hours for the change to propagate around the world. You’ll be able to access the site again within that time.
I’m grateful to you for reading Down the Road!
Though jimgrey.net “disappeared,” we are happy that Jim Grey did not.
Funny you should mention that. I was talking to someone the other day, I forget who, about this blog. I said that I schedule posts well in advance and usually have 2-3 weeks worth of posts queued up. She said, “Oh, so if you died, nobody would know for 3 weeks!”
Oh, I’m sure *someone* would notice — at least within a week — if you died, Jim. ;) All joking aside, what a bummer about your hosting (I don’t suppose you’ll be able to get a partial refund?) but I’m very glad to read your blog itself isn’t defunct. Keep those wonderful scheduled posts coming, please!
Oh, please excuse my gallows humor. As for the blog, I was paying for hosting month to month, so I’m not out anything — but I was on automatic billing, so let’s hope that ends too with the hosting company going down, and I don’t have to fight to get that to stop.
Glad to see all is well and your back up an running and I,m sure lots of us would miss you if this blog ever disappeared so no more doom and gloom talk please.
Sorry! I didn’t mean to cause any worry! I’m fine!!
